"WRONG IS ALWAYS WRONG"
Isaiah 5:20
Introduction:
We are living in a period of loose and sagging morals. Satan provides many rationalizations for improper behaviour.
At school many times, when a student is corrected for an action, they will say “so and so did the same thing” or “everyone was doing the same thing as I” or “it’s not my fault” or “it’s not fair.”
People seem to justify wrong behaviour and actions. Let me give an example. Some people who lived in LA during the riots saw nothing wrong for looting stores just because they were poor. Theft is always wrong. What did the Lord say?
Exodus 20:15
“Thou shalt not steal.”
That is real plain, isn’t it? In other words, there is no real reason to steal. I could continue this train of thought for a long time but will not do so because it gets away from my train of thought.
We should be among those who would live faithful Christian lives. We must not be ignorant of Satan’s devices. (2nd Corinthians 2:11 “Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.”)
The third Sunday in January is Sanctity of Human Life Sunday. Thirty-eight years ago the U.S. Supreme Court handed down the most notorious ruling in our nation’s history when it removed legal protection for unborn children and legalized abortion on demand in all 50 states. As a result, nearly 50 million babies have been aborted in this nation (4120 in Kentucky in 2009). May God forgive us of this grievous sin.
I want to give four possible scenarios for abortion and let you decide whether or not it was right to abort these babies.
1. There's a preacher and wife who are very, very, poor. They already have 14 kids. Now she finds out she's pregnant with 15th. They're living in tremendous poverty. Considering their poverty and the excessive world population, would you consider recommending she get an abortion?
2. The father is sick with sniffles; the mother has TB. They have 4 children. 1st is blind, 2nd is dead, 3rd is deaf, 4th has TB. She finds she's pregnant again. Given the extreme situation, would you consider recommending abortion?
3. A white man raped a 13 year old black girl and she got pregnant. If you were her parents, would you consider recommending abortion?
4. A teenage girl is pregnant. She's not married. Her fiancé is not the father of the baby, and he's very upset. Would you consider recommending abortion?
Wrong is always wrong despite our efforts to excuse our actions. Let me be very plain today. I want to give several reasons why wrong is always wrong.
I. Wrong is wrong, even if you don't get caught! The Lord sees all and remembers all.
Genesis 16:13
“Thou God seest me”
Proverbs 15:3
“The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.”
II. Wrong is wrong, even if you do it for a good cause! The honorable purpose does not justify, a dishonorable deed or action. The end never justifies the means.
1st John 3:4
“Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.”
1st John 5:17
“All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.”
III. Wrong is wrong, even if others are doing worse thing! To the lost in the Day of Judgment, it will be little comfort to know others committed worse sins.
Proverbs 24:9
“The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men.”
IV. Wrong is wrong, even if it doesn't bother the conscience! The conscience can be trained or educated to accept wrongdoing; even an honest sin or an evil done in sincerity is sinful in the sight of the Holy God. Galatians 6:7
“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”
V. Wrong is wrong, even if it is commonly considered acceptable!
Exodus 23:2
“Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest judgment”
Proverbs 4:14-15
“Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men. Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.”
1st Thessalonians 5:21-22
“Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil.”
Let me illustrate with this. Is abortion ever right according to the Bible? Forget what you have learned from every place but what the Bible teach. Let give you a verse of scripture to help you settle this thought. Romans 3:4
“God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.”
Remember the four instances I asked what would you do?
If you said yes to any of those statements of abortion here is what would happen.
In the first case, you have just killed John Wesley. He was
one of the great evangelists in the 19th century.
2. In the second case, you have killed Beethoven.
3. In the third case, you have killed Ethel Waters, the great black gospel singer.
4. If you said yes to the fourth case, you have just declared the murder of Jesus Christ.

Mexico City Policy
The August 1984 announcement by President Reagan of what has become known as the "Mexico City Policy" directed the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to expand this limitation and withhold USAID funds from NGOs that use non-USAID funds to engage in a wide range of activities, including providing advice, counseling, or information regarding abortion, or lobbying a foreign government to legalize or make abortion available. The Mexico City Policy was in effect from 1985 until 1993, when it was rescinded by President Clinton. President George W. Bush reinstated the policy in 2001, implementing it through conditions in USAID grant awards, and subsequently extended the policy to "voluntary population planning" assistance provided by the Department of State.
The policy required non-governmental organizations to "agree as a condition of their receipt of [U.S.] federal funds" that they would "neither perform nor actively promote abortion as a method of family planning in other nations".[3
Named for the venue of the United Nations International Conference on Population where it was announced, the Mexico City Policy was instituted by U.S. President Ronald Reagan in 1984.[5][6][7] The final language of the 1984 policy was negotiated by the deputy chairman of the U.S. delegation, Alan Keyes, then an Assistant Secretary of State.[8]
After the Mexico City Policy's institution, organizations were required to meet its specified conditions in order to be eligible for federal funding from the United States, and, as a result, several international abortion agencies no longer received a portion of their funds from this source. The International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) did not alter its operation and lost more than 20% of its total funding. Other family planning organizations, such as the Family Guidance Association of Ethiopia and the Planned Parenthood Association of Zambia, likewise did not make the changes required by the Mexico City Policy and had their funding cut. NGOs in Romania and Colombia adapted to the new U.S. guidelines and continued to qualify for federal funding.[9]
President Bill Clinton rescinded the Mexico City Policy on January 22, 1993. He referred to the policy as being "excessively broad" and stated that it had "undermined efforts to promote safe and efficacious family planning programs in foreign nations".[10] On January 22, 2001, President George W. Bush reinstated the policy by executive order, stating, "It is my conviction that taxpayer funds should not be used to pay for abortions or advocate or actively promote abortion, either here or abroad. It is therefore my belief that the Mexico City Policy should be restored". In September 2007, Barbara Boxer, a Senator from California, created an amendment designed to lift the funding conditions put in place by the Mexico City Policy. It passed by a vote of 53-41. President Bush promised to veto any legislation which would eliminate the Mexico City Policy.[11] On January 23, 2009, President Barack Obama rescinded the policy once again.
